Nichole received her M.S. in Biology and her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of South Dakota. Her dissertation research focused primarily on the characterization of a blue-light photoreceptor/cryptochrome protein in the single-celled algae, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Currently, Nichole is hoping to expand her knowledge of protein biochemistry while learning the tricks of the mass spectrometry trade. In her spare time, Nichole, her husband, and their four children are exploring the various sites around San Diego.
