Overview

The Scripps Center for Mass Spectrometry is pleased to invite you to the following short course.

Instructors:

  • Sunia Trauger. Dr. Trauger is the Associate Director and head of the proteomics group at the Scripps Center for Mass Spectrometry.
  • Gary Siuzdak. Dr. Siuzdak is the Senior Director of the Scripps Center for Mass Spectrometry and Professor of Molecular Biology.
  • Oscar Yanes. Dr. Yanes is an expert in phosphorylated protein characterization.
  • Zhouxin Shen. Dr. Shen is involved in quantitative proteomics research using multidimensional chromatography - mass spectrometry at UCSD.
  • Michael Sykes. Michael works in the area of quantitative isotope pulse mass spectrometry research.
  • Ewa Kalisiak. Ewa is an expert in proteomics analysis.
  • Jon Apon. Jon is an expert in proteomics analysis.

The course will feature presentations covering current topics including:

  • instrumentation basics
  • sample preparation
  • identification of post-translational modifications
  • quantitative proteomics: label free and isotopic labeling techniques
  • novel fragmentation techniques and top-down proteomics
